Dragonfly Water Treatment Systems
Cape Canaveral, Florida

A U.S. Government mobile facility with requirements for water treatment on board for two bathrooms, two sinks, and emergency showers was modified for the installation of an advanced Dragonfly Water and Wastewater Treatment System. This mobile facility supports a number of classified programs and cannot be disclosed in this write-up. However, the Dragonfly System and its function is briefly described in the following paragraphs.

The mobile facility’s water management system is developed to process and maintain three distinct types of water. The first type is a 165-gallon potable water tank clean and free of any organic material, including microorganisms and spores. The second are two gray water tanks with an approximate capacity of 200 gallons. The system treated the gray water and oxidized all organic material, including the destruction of all microorganisms and spores.

The third type is a biological black water treatment system that uses selected bacteria to consume the waste and separation of the biomass. The clarified and treated wastewater was then transferred to the gray water treatment system for reuse as flush water in the unit’s two toilet facilities. The system automatically analyzed and treated the potable water in the supply tank to assure the potable water was fresh and safe to use every day.

Due to the nature of this facility, it was of extreme importance to achieve complete destruction of any organism or their spores. This extremely demanding Dragonfly system is operated and controlled by a Programmable Logic Comptroller (PLC) programmed by AJT & Agrimond engineers and scientists. The patented system including ozone generation and contactor system, as well as the biological activated sludge process is one of the most advanced applications of the Dragonfly technology.  The system, in operation for over three years, has not been pumped out nor has it failed to support its mission. The Dragonfly System is truly a complete, self-sufficient, 100 percent recycled wastewater treatment system.
